ArmSoM has been expanding its product lineup in 2025, with the most recent launch being the CM1 module and its companion carrier board, designed to support a variety of IoT applications.

Now, they have announced the availability of AIM7, their high-performance AI module for edge computing and AI applications, through a crowdfunding campaign on Crowd Supply.

📝 ArmSoM AIM7: Key Specifications

The AIM7 is powered by the Rockchip RK3588 SoM. It features an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A76 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores, offering strong performance for AI and edge computing tasks.

Its integrated ARM Mali-G610 MP4 GPU supports 4K rendering and multimedia processing, making it capable of handling complex graphics workloads efficiently.

For AI acceleration, the module includes a 6 TOPS NPU. This allows developers to run inference tasks on frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch without relying entirely on the CPU or GPU.

Memory options go up to 32 GB LPDDR4x, and storage reaches 128 GB eMMC. The AIM7 is compatible with Jetson Nano carrier boards, enabling developers to leverage existing boards while upgrading performance.

If you were wondering, the AIM7 is suited for AI and edge computing applications, including computer vision, robotics, industrial automation, and smart IoT devices. Its combination of CPU, GPU, and NPU allows it to handle real-time processing, data analysis, and AI inference tasks efficiently.

📋
Since the AIM7 is being offered through a crowdfunding campaign, backers should be aware that delivery timelines are estimates and there’s always some risk the product may be delayed or may not ship at all.

When I wrote about the AIM7 last year, it was quite early in the crowdfunding stage, but now, they are in the "Mass Production Timeline", with full-scale production set to begin soon.

The module is currently available on Crowd Supply, starting at $239 for the base configuration (the AIM-IO carrier board costs extra). Shipping is expected to begin in the coming months, with worldwide delivery options being available depending on local regulations and carrier availability.
