At It's FOSS, we take comments very seriously. Over 85,000 comments are a proof of a strong and vibrant community.
And in the same regard, we have a new commenting system in place.
Behold the new commenting system: FastComments
Apart from being cost effective, FastComments allows importing existing content and it integrates with Ghost SSO. In other words, if you are logged into It's FOSS member account, you'll also be logged into the comments automatically.
Visitors without It's FOSS membership can still leave comments (known as guest comments) but members have additional advantages.
You'll be properly labelled Member or Plus Member (if you have Plus membership). Other than that, you'll be awarded badges for your activities. You should get notified when someone leaves a reply to your comment.
To summarize all the advantages:
- Automatic log in to the comments when you log into your itsfoss member account.
- You'll have a profile that shows the number of comments and karma points, visible to all. You can see the badges in progress and the comments you left, too. This is visible only to you.
- You may even chat with other members and send messages to them.
- Earn badges for your activities such as frequent comments, liked comments, featured comments etc.
- You may subscribe to comments on a page, even if they are not replies to your comment. Sometimes the discussion is worth visiting again and again. This feature may have some hiccups at the moment and I'll check with the developer once the holidays are over.
🗨️ Enjoy the conversation 😄
