WebAssembly (Wasm) is a new low-level assembly-like language that provides a way to run code written in multiple languages on the web at near-native speed, with client apps running on the web.
Since it is a new implementation on web development, The Linux Foundation brings a FREE course covering the fundamentals of Wasm on the non-profit edX learning platform.
Overview of the WebAssembly course
The course is titled Introduction to WebAssembly. It is designed for web, cloud, blockchain developers, architects, and CTOs interested in WebAssembly’s strengths and limitations, and its potential applications in blockchain, serverless, edge/IoT, and more.
By enrolling in this free course, you will get a solid foundation on the WebAssembly runtime and its capabilities. In addition to that, you will also receive a good understanding of the Wasm runtime.

Why WebAssembly matters
Wasm is the fourth “official” language of the web and its capabilities are beyond the web browser. It is very small, portable and at the same time provides powerful capabilities for developers.
Wasm is a small and portable binary instruction format for a stack-based virtual machine that runs in a web browser. Above all, provides the ability to run code written in multiple languages on the web at near-native speed by taking advantage of common hardware capabilities.
The capability of Wasm to do more than its initial application sets it aside. However, there was a limitation on the availability of quality training options. Therefore, the Linux Foundation is bringing a new course for free to uplift the usage of Wasm.
